About Me

Hi, I’m Paul, I’ve been into air cooled V Dubs’ since before I learnt to drive. I’ve owned a few but my first still is a 1964 Type 2 splitty that I bought when I was 18. Its firsts years with me saw lots of exciting adventures, touring the show scene at its height in the early nineties, surf trips to Devon, being stopped by the police and trying to explain why 6 volt brake lights are so dim. And many hours underneath hitting starter motors with large hammers. In 1997 I started the vans restoration but traveling the world took on a higher priority and with good intentions the van was left in its garage, but slowly and surely (not helped by a leaking roof) the red tin worm started to draw its' plans against the van. So with a huge bag of enthusiasm, an endless pot of cash (found under a rainbow) and an understanding girlfriend the van will once again be restored beyond its former glory. PB
